Milarepa Cave

Gaurishankar region and Khumbu region is divided by long range of mountains. Gaurishankar is situated in the west of the Khumbu region. Gaurishankar region is much more peaceful and quite than other trekking trails. There are lesser tourists in the region. The population of upper region are very less as more and more people live outside.

Gaurishankar is located in central-east Nepal. There are number of small peaks in the region. Melungtse and Gaurishankar are two main peaks in the region. It is naturally gifted places with close view of mountains. The main life source of region is Tamakoshi River. Alongside of the river, it is covered with lush green dense forest. This region also have number of high mountain glaciers and lakes. Tso-Rolpa is high altitude Ice Lake of the region.

This region is also important from point of view of culture and religion. In lower region people of mix culture live together. Gurung, Magar, Tamang, Newari, Chhetri, Bhramin are main residence in lower altitude. They follow mainly Hinduism and Buddhism. In higher altitude residence are Sherpa. They mainly follow Buddhism. The region is also famous for century old Buddhist monasteries. It is a key attraction to any tourist. There are also number of Hindu temple. Kalingchowk, Bigu Gumpa, and Lapchi Monastry, Milarepa cave are some of famous religious location of the region. Milarepa is Buddhist monk who got enlightment. He went to this isolated region and meditated in this cave. He use nettles as food and turn into green human.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02:Drive to Charikot.

Day 03: Drive to Kanlingchowk by Jeep.

Day 04: Trek to Tarebir Village.

Day 05: Trek to Bigu Gumpa (Monastery).

Day 06: Rest Day.

Day 07: Trek to Bulukpa.

Day 08: Trek to Bijuli Danda or Thopondanda.

Day 09: Trek to Kukur Raja Camp.

Day 10: Trek to Ram-Laximan.

Day 11: Trek to Home Khola.

Day 12: Trek to Lapchi Village.

Day 13: Rest day.

Day 14: Explore Milarepa Cave.

Day 15: Trek to Homa Khola.

Day 16: Trek to Lama bagar.

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 18: Transfer to International Airport.
