Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve

Shuklaphanta Wildlife reserve is second largest reserve in term of area in Nepal. It is located in the far-Western Nepal. It is a sub-tropical jungle of Sal tree with vast open grassland. The park was originally used as hunting ground and later converted to protection area. Swamp deer, Tigers, Elephant, blue bulls, barking deer, wild boars, leopards, jackels, langurs, monkey etc are main residence of reserve. Birds are also main attraction. Both local and migratory birds are found in the reserve. Sarus Crane, swamp francolin, grass owl, warblers, flycatchers, Bengal Florican are some of the birds found in the reserve. Marsh mugger, crocodile, cobra and Python are main reptile of the reserve.
